Sometimes there just isn’t anything better than chicken soup, and that’s not only the case when you’re sick. Chicken soup is mega healthy and super good for you, that’s no secret, but did you know that it can actually help repair your digestive system and help you cleanse?
Chicken soup has a natural ingredient which feeds and repairs the mucous lining in the small intestine. The inner lining is the beginning or ending of the nervous system, and is easily harmed with too many laxatives, food additives and parasites, which are found in majority of the foods most of us eat. Chicken soup heals the nerves, improves digestion, reduces allergies and boosts the immune system. Did you know that its also very easy to make?
Here is my version of the good ol’ healthy chicken noodle soup:
What you’ll need: chicken breast (I go for organic or antibiotics free and free ran )
Half of onion
Parsley and dill
Garlic cloves 2
Carrots 3 medium sized (organic)
Noodles (go for whole wheat if you want the healthier kind of soup)
Ginger (is great to boost immunity)
Sunflower oil (optional)
Take a medium sized pot and fill it with water. Add a spoon of sunflower oil for thickness and about a teaspoon of salt. Be sure to taste
Bring the water to boil and add the onion (a big chunk of it, no need to slice it)
Slice chicken breast and put chunks into the boiling water
Reduce the heat to low and let it cook for 50 minutes
After 45 minutes chop the carrots and celery into small pieces and add into the soup, bring the heat to medium
Add some pepper and a pinch of sugar. Taste it and see if it needs any more of anything
Let it cook for 5 minutes and add noodles or pasta (check on the package how long it takes to cook)
Turn off the heat and let it sit. Add minced garlic, ginger, parsley and dill.
